An A+C symposium in partnership with Norwich Cathedral coinciding with the exhibition ‘Living by the Rule: Contemporary meets Medieval’ (at the Sainsbury Centre, Norwich 16 May – 4 Oct)*

Introduction by Canon Dr Peter Doll, Canon Librarian at Norwich Cathedral

Dr Jessica Barker FSA, Senior Lecturer in Medieval Art History at The Courtauld and Dr Ed Krčma, Associate Professor of Art History at the University of East Anglia, curators of ‘Living by the Rule’

Professor Andrew Bick, Professor of Contempory Art & Reinterpretation at University of Gloucester
‘Parallels in time; The Benedictine Rule, contemporary art, and their lived proximity.’

Dr Nicola Simpson, Research Fellow at Norwich University of the Arts
Performing the Rule: Benedictine Pattern Poems.’ 

Artists in residence from Norwich Cathedral.

Tickets include tea and coffee but not lunch (participants are invited to bring or buy their own at the cathedral’s excellent café)

*We are sorry the day does not allow for time to view the exhibition but hope that attendees might be able to do so on another day. A+C is also planning to hold its annual weekend retreat in Norfolk in September when viewing the exhibition will be part of the programme.
