A small altar dedicated to Bishop George Bell made from burnished oak cut from a tree from the Great Park, Windsor. The cross beside it is cut in one piece from the underside of the altar thus forming the four legs of the table.

Jim Partridge (b. 1953, British) had already established a reputation for his vessels and small scale furniture when he startedworking in partnership with Liz Walmsley. They have worked on many commissions for site specific furniture, including Compton Verney, and have been nominated for the Jerwood Furniture Prize. Jim Partridge won the first ACE Award for Art in a Religious Context in 2003 for the Bell Altar.
