Wally Gilbert has made two silver crosses for St Mary’s, one an altar cross and the other a processional cross. They are identical except that the altar cross has embellishment in gold. Gilbert also made a ciborium and baptismal shell for the church.

Wally Gilbert (b. 1946, British) studied at the West Sussex School of Art & Design and Chelsea School of Art before working for Louis Osman. His work is distinctly reminiscent of the designs of the Art & Crafts movement. Gilbert works in a variety of precious metals as well as cast iron and aluminium. He was made a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in 1994.
